We are bombarded daily with news about scientific discoveries and breakthroughs that directly affects our daily lives. Many advertisements even use science to endorse their products, telling their consumers that their products are based on the most recent scientific findings.
What exactly is this thing called science? Some people relate science with laboratories and endless experiments. To some students, science is just an accumulation of facts and terms memorized from a textbook. Simply stated, science is just a systematic and organized way of finding answers to questions.
People in olden days must have been puzzled by the many natural phenomena happening around them. What caused thunder and lightning? Why did earthquake occur? How were tidal waves formed? They must have these among themselves and perhaps ventured on some answers. These have been passed on to us from generation to generation.
But people began to dissatisfy with stories to explain nature. Little by little, through the years, they began to discover the real explanations to puzzling things around them.
