Why the World Should be Different

How poverty comes into people's lives and destroys them and why the world should take more action against this.

We live in a world filled with poverty, racial criticism, child abuse, animal abuse, drug abuse, alcohol addiction, smoking, crimes and many more this list can go on forever but today I am going to talk about the number one on my list, Poverty.

All human's need food, water and shelter, but there are lots of people that don't get these needs. About 25,000 people die every day of hunger or hunger-related causes, according to the United Nations. This is one person every three and a half seconds. Yet there is plenty of food in the world for everyone. The problem is that hungry people are trapped in severe poverty. They lack the money to buy enough food to nourish themselves. Being constantly malnourished, they become weaker and often sick. This makes them increasingly less able to work, which then makes them even poorer and hungrier. This downward spiral often continues until death for them and their families. Poverty is a reality in all countries rich and poor. In Africa many people don't get clean water or sometimes no water at all. The living conditions are extremely poor. People may think that the cause of poverty is laziness. This can be right but it is also wrong. The term poverty may have vastly differing meaning to people from different countries or backgrounds. However, when humans hear poverty, it will mean to them to have lack of enough income and resource to live adequately by community standards or in other words the situation of being poor. This does not mean that lazy people are poor because they did not study well or work hard. Some people that are in poverty work hard and they are still poor because they have no fortune with them. Each individual in this world has a different cause for being in poverty. Some are uneducated and cant get a good job to support their daily need's or some just live in an area where there aren't many jobs for their profession. With our rising rate of unemployment and lack of education, America is diving into poverty. Our country and a myriad of others are drowning and need serious assistance. Money cannot make these problems vanish, no matter how much there is, but it can substantially diminish them. If given unlimited financial and human resources during the next ten years, our country and numerous others could take a sizable step in reducing the problems of homelessness, education, and unemployment. Anyone reading this right now I just want to say this, it might seem random but never drop out of school, if you have no education why do you think someone will offer you a job? To me education equals life. Back on topic. The definition of poverty in the dictionary states poverty as "the state of being poor; lack of the means of providing material needs and comforts. People who are considered "poor" or "in poverty", are people who can not provide sufficient food, clothing or shelter for their families. Although there are far worse cases of poverty around the world, in the United States people who are either single parents or parents who work for minimum wage are considered poor. Even people do have food, clothing, shelter, and make more then minimum wage but can't afford luxury are people who are considered poor. Poverty is a major issue in the US. It is something that the country has been trying to solve for decades. Poverty tends to exist in concentrated areas (city slums, county areas, trailer parks, etc.), poor people are stuck living with other poor people. One of the reasons why it's hard for these people to get out of poverty is because there are so little jobs available to them in their area because of the high concentration of other poor people around them. The U.S has money but as all of you know money can't solve everything, I think that Poverty should be the U.S no.1 priority.

This is why I think that the world should be different and can be different.
