I have been trying to get people to simply express how they feel to the elected officials in both state and federal offices. My efforts seem to go unnoticed by what is going on in our economy. Our nation is falling way behind in our efforts to make the international community more equal in trade and other diplomatic areas.
If we Americans were fed up enough with the status quo, then we could get our elected officials to actually react to our most urgent needs and problems. We only need to express ourselves to our elected officials in person or by phone or even by mail. If we allow our elected officials to go without accountability then we have no one to blame except ourselves.
I urge all Americans to write to their respectful elected officials and express our dismay with how they are doing the business of the people. After the letters are written, then we may see a small grass roots effort take hold and start the accountability process to restore our faith in the officials we elect to hold office in both state and federal offices.
One person alone does not stand a chance, but with the voices of many joining in to express their feelings, our officials will have no option left except to respect the voices of many.
I am a registered Independent voter and hold no preference to either political party. I do vote in the elections and have contacted and attempted to contact my locally elected officials about various matters. I have been told by the officials I spoke with to keep in touch with them about various matters and to let others know that they can not hear the people if they don't contact them.
I have many ideas on how we, as Americans, could improve our standard of living but I have problems getting my voice heard above the skeptics and naysayers roar. It seems that the skeptics and naysayers have all of the political power and the rest of us Americans have to simply put up with this status quo.
In the beginning of our government we were all supposed to have a voice but recently, however, our voice(s) have been silenced by the power brokers in our nations capitol. Those very same power brokers are getting more and more wealth and leaving only the shell for the rest of us Americans. What is wrong with this picture?
Our voices need to be heard and the only way to get it heard is by all citizens of the USA to write their respective elected officials and express their feelings on the issues that concern us all.
