The ridiculous empty advertising that has no sense and is totally out in left field disturbs me. This was brought to my attention by a news commentator Andy Roonie recently. Ads like Revlon's “designed for real people” to me, suggests that any other design would be for copy artists. I see. Then there is the Maple Leaf president who puts in a quick plug for his company while apologizing over the Lysteria associated deaths in Canada due to his company's lack of quality control. I ought to know because I was in that field many years ago earning my way through school and saw the lack of hygiene rampant in a meatpacking place in this city. No wonder an outbreak of some bacterial agent is bound to occur.
Even the crosswords puzzle cover has super written over “easy to do” puzzles! Now how super is that supposed to be? It is unlikely there is anything super about it but the publication wants to come across as selling the easiest of the stock, apparently it feels good about the use of this kind of adjective that goes into making “superman.” No publication seems to be content with using any earthly words. Similarly, I have seen stuff referred to as out of this world! Now how could I possibly se it if it was?
Well younger friends entering the field of market research are getting exposed to this kind of publicity and the malice behind it. I don't think it's healthy at all. I mean the justification of a companies working when there should have been proper quality control is bad enough but also the idiotic phraseology used to captivate people to buy mundane clothes and other commodities is absolutely ludicrous! All these giant companies are interested in profit first no matter what their logo represents and they don't care about using reasonable wording in their advertisements. I wonder what life would be without this spectacle!
