We celebrate our country's discovery by Christopher Columbus on Oct. 12. I wonder what the Native Americans thought about their being discovered by the ships sailing from across the ocean. Do they celebrate Oct. 12, too?
Perhaps we can all look back at its beginning, when two cultures collided. True, it took much courage for Columbus and his team to sail into the unknown, across a round planet. It's also probably true he was motivated by greed, getting riches and fame. Yet, I believe all things happen for good, fitting into an overall loving, intelligent Field of Consciousness.
So we look at the fall-out of the massacres, raping, infecting with small pox, degrading and denying that occurred and feel sad and compassionate. We also must look at the bravery and understanding that was also present, as pioneers worked their very hardest to create beauty and bounty in this wonderful land of ours.
Conflict of any kind is sad, destructive and is of a very low consciousness. Yet the very nature of the energy Field we all live in is one of expansion, learning, and love. It often takes conflict and disaster to move our awareness into a higher perspective. Emotional, intellectual, and spiritual growth is inevitable, however much we may fight it. There is no where in existence where this evolving, expanding life does not exist. We are in it. We are it.
Coming from a view of the oneness, the connection of all things, it helps to see that we are and have been Life happening in the 3-D realm. Aware of the invisible energy behind the visible world helps to create a more loving, harmonious existence for all humankind.
Even when asked by the disciples, “Are you really the Prince of Peace?” Jesus was reported in the Aquarian Gospel by Levi to tell them they already had peace and it was stagnant. He had come to stir the waters up before real peace could arrive, and it would. Today we know we are the ones we have been waiting for. Let peace begin with you and me.
No matter who wins the great conflict now occurring with Democrats and Republicans, I stop to remember this is all part of a process to raise our consciousness into that Field of Oneness, where all things happen together for the best of all concerned. And so it is.
