Books vs. Video Games

How video games are thought of in the wrong way, and why they are not so bad.

Most people over the age of 30 don't understand kids and their video games. They just see it as a way for them not to do their homework. But back when they were kids they didn't have the things we have now, like video games or electricity.

But playing games is a way to forget about your troubles. Love life. Grades. And bad home life. I know adults who have played games as a hobby, and they don't think that it's bad for you.

But I know that playing video games 24/7 is bad for you. Just a few hours a day won't hurt. It's a matter of control. Games are fun, and as humans we need fun in our daily affairs.

And as far as not reading, most games you have to read to be able to keep up. Like RPG games, (role playing games) you read most of the time with the exception of a few here-and-there cut scenes.

As educational hands video games are not given enough credit. I myself had help learning to read by playing games like Poke'mon when I was younger. People need to take a second look at games.

But with a little control, video games are harmless. No matter what anybody says, they are. The real problem is that they are expensive, but you can just wait a few months for the price to drop. After a few months video games go from $50 to $20.

I\\\'m probably one of the few teachers out there who agree with you! I\\\'ve used video games for everything from motivation to writing prompts, and there is a lot of value there if we take the time to look for it.

I always enjoy video game articles and I enjoy playing video games although I have to say that it takes a lot more concentration to read a book than it does to play video games. We are talking uninterrupted, immersing thinking. Now there are a few games that include that kind of reading but not many. Elderscrolls is one example of games that have that kind of reading where you actually have to read in game books. Haha, anyway, I did enjoy your article. Video games are good for you definitely.
