Mismatch Solitaire

This is where the saying "lucky with cards, unlucky with love" holds true.

Are you partnered? Not sure if the relationship should continue or end? Let the cards foretell.

Shuffle a pack of cards and deal out four stacks.

As the Aces and Deuces turn up, make two rows with the Aces on top and the Deuces below arranged according to suit.

Build up each row with alternating numbers and alternating colors - odd numbered cards for the Aces, even numbered cards for the Deuces, red over black and black over red (a red Three goes to a black Ace, a black Four goes to a red Deuce, and so on). Reserve the fourth stack for the Kings and Queens which turn up in the first three stacks and cannot yet be placed on any of the rows (this is so they do not block the lower cards).

You go through the whole pack only once. If the game succeeds, the Kings and Queens have the wrong mates. Your relationship is doomed.
