Many have heard of the stories of Atlantis, a supposed advanced society destroyed by a great flood. Many of the original stories of atlantis are known far and wide. But new findings all over the world may point to something bigger. Many monuments and many large similarities in cultures may possibly point to a culture existing thousands of years before any advanced civilizations.
Architectural mysteries
Many strange monuments have been spotted around the world submerged under the ocean. One of these monuments is a structure found of the coast of okinawa, it appeared to have perfect geometric shapes, passageways, and stairwells that have convinced some that it was constructed by human hands. But others, including a noted geologist have argued that these are merely a result of unique but natural forms of erosion. The structure refered to as the Yonaguni monument is claimed to be somewhat reminiscent of south american pyramids. But what has interested historians and geologists the most is the date of the monument. It seems to date back to over 6000 b.c. and may possibly even date back to 10,000 b.c. One noted geologist, Robert Schoch, made headlines several years ago by claiming the sphinx is much older than thought, after claiming most of the erosionon the sphinx base is mainly the result of water, not sand. When he visited the monument he claimed most of the shape was due to natural causes, not man. Kimura, a researcher on the monument claims that he only saw part of the monument. Claiming, "While I agree erosion is responsible for some of the shapes, as a whole, I remain convinced that it is man-made. Some claim seeing a sculpture on the side of the monument, resembling the face of a man in a south american headdress.
Other monuments found include strange temples found in the rain forest and artifacts and a city found in peru, that date back to 10,000 b.c. that contained clay pottery that was not developed until centuries later. A monument similar to the one found off the coast of Okinawa was found off the coast of the azores, one of the theoretical positions of atlantis. Many strange pyramids have been spotted across the ocean floor in the atlantic and the pacific.
One of the major findings of a group of monuments resembling streets, buildings and pyramids were found that were dated at least to 6000 b.c. off the coast of cuba. With the help of a submergible craft great granite blocks in perpendicular rows and circular formations with what seemed to be drawing on their sides were placed in what seemed to be human prescision. Tunnels streets, and passageways were also identified. Geologists and scientists identified the structures as being cut, carved, and polished in order to be configured to what would seem a layout for a city. Some geologists claim that they cannot understand this to be a natural formation. Skeptics, however, claim that it is merely a natural formation of limestone. The pictures ,videos, or news is yet to be released to the public for scrutiny so the public is holding its breath for this latest discovery that many scientists claim is a "megacity."
Many Similarities have also been reported between cultures, such as the pyramids found in egypt and south america. Many artifacts have been uncovered around the world that some claim are similar to the architecture of the olmencs. And while many of the stories of atlantis can be discredited with ease there have been references and writings from all over world involving atlantis and a great disaster that destroyed a flourishing society.
Many old maps, such as the map Christopher Columbus used to guide himself to the new world, contain a strange island in the Atlantic that is not to be found today.
A possible connection to "The Great Flood"
While many are skeptical of a great flood that occurred thousands of years ago that destroyed many societies and possibly an ancient advanced society. Many scientists claim that during the last ice age a great flood could have occurred that contained up to 100 foot waves as a result of the rising sea levels. This is hypothesized to have occurred around 6000-10,000 b.c. Many islands have also been found submerged with tribal tools and small villages that date back to around 6000 b.c. at the least. Many writings around the world, including the bible make references to a great disaster that occured leading to a great flood. Coincidence? Many claim the sea levels would not have risen alone and would have been a slow process. But some counter back with the evidence of mass groupings of bodies surounding and found on these sunken islands and coasts. This points to one of the culturel records that is also, while less common, found around the world. It claims there was a great earthquake or earlier disaster that offset a great flood or rise in sea levels.
