There is no doubt that the epic of Mahabarata and Ramayana come from India. These stories then spread to Southeast Asia. Today we can see the depiction of the Ramayana story in Prambanan temple in Java, Indonesia, which was built in the early 9th century. The story is carved along the walls surrounding the main temples. Mahabarata was translated from Indian language into old Javanese language in early 11th century. Then in the 17th century it was translated again into modern Javanese language. Since then these stories are very popular in Java and Bali. Today Javanese people continously perform puppet play called wayang kulit based on these two stories.
Along these years both stories have been slightly modified by the Javanese people. New characters and episodes are added. Now the Javanese stories are different from the original ones. However, the main points of the story remain the same.
There are astonishing descriptions about some equipments used by the main characters of Mahabarata story. First, is arsenals. Some of the characters have arrows that have fire and can chase a target into the sky. The description is exactly like the modern heat-seeking missile. A character named Gatotkaca even can fly. He was protected from rain and heat when it is hot or rainy. Descriptions about him resembles that of a pilot. Could he be a commander of fighter planes? His muscle is wire. His bones are iron. His skin is copper. He wore a special clothes that can resist any weapon. Gatotkaca is a bionic man. He was killed in the great war of Baratayuda by this missile when he flew high.
Then by the end of the war both sides of Kurawa and Pandawa used a special arrow. These arrows was called Cundamanik. They were given by god who warned them never to use them. God said that if they use them, then their fire will reach the sky, many people will die and the world will be destroyed. But they used Cundamanik. Consequently great fire reached the sky and many people died. Isn't that a description of nuclear weapon ?
Another equipment is called sumping in Javanese language. It is a pair of ear decorations. The user will be able to hear someone from a distant. It is clear that the story is about modern blue tooth equipment. Then Kresna, another character, has an unique equipment. It is a mirror. If he looks at it he can see people coming from a distant. No doubt that he had radar and camera. He could also speak to other people from a distant. Did he have a telephone ?
Gatotkaca had two brothers- Ontorejo and Ontoseno. Ontoseno could go deep into the earth and he could kill his enemy from a distant. Was he a commander of underground bunker ? Meanwhile Ontorejo could dive deep into the sea and he wore a special dress. Was he a commander of a submarine ?
Another astonishing description is about musical instruments called Lokananta in Javanese language. It is a special divine instruments in heaven that can play music without being played. It can play automatically. The description is very similar to electronic devices! Could it be MP3 player or something ?
Another device is even more astonishing since we don't have it now. It is called kancing gelung in Javanese language. It means a kind of bracelet that is used to tie hair. Its function is as a decoration as well as hair band. In Javanese Mahabarata there is a description that several character had this equipment. When they travelled far they would put their family or friends inside it ! Then when they got to their destinations their family would come out of it. When do we invent such device ?
As I wrote earlier, these stories were written thousands of years ago. Then the were translated into Javanese language at least one thousand year ago. At those times there was no high technology. But how can the writer wrote specific descriptions ? How can he/she described modern equipments ? Is this his great vision ? Or he had seen it before from an ancient great civilisation that was destroyed in a nuclear war ? Do you have any explanations ?
