Doomsday

There is a popular scientific clock called the doomsday clock which has been set on a bid to predict the time of great destruction upon the earth and it's inhabitants - including you and I. this clock is set based on predominantly occurring advise effects in the earth. Terrorist attacks, war, global warming and the ozone layer depletion are one of the many considered factors.

Terroristic attacks have become very rampant in recent times. The September II, destruction of the world trade centre in the U.S was one of the instants that led to the resetting of the doomsday clock bringing our day of doom nearer. If such attacks become rampant, the human population will be at a risk of possible wife off.

Wars and the instruments of wars are so many on the earth surface. It is estimated that there are nuclear weapons on the earth capable of destroying the human race three times over. Bullets are also innumerable because even in peace times, bullets are still being produced in large quantities.

Global warming is on a very high rate. Due to global warming, large glaciers are melting and this glaciers aided in stabilizing the temperature of the earth get now, they are melting in large quantities. As the glaciers melt, the earth's water level rises leading to an occurrence of floods and predictable, great and adverse climatic and weather effects. Climatic and weather changes might lead to food shortage, hunger and death by starvation.

Ozone, an allotrope of oxygen had from time immemorial been of very great help to the earth. Ozone is less dense than air so it moves upward to form a layer of its own high above the human heads. This layer reduces the penetration of ultra-violet rays; a radiation from the sun which exposure to causes sunburns and in some cases cancer. Due to industrial pollution, many chemicals are emitted into the atmosphere and even during rain seeding. This emitted compounds go ahead to react with ozone leading to its destruction.

Terroristic groups as a result of the doomsday prediction might decide to stage a great attack on that day. Everyone might die of hunger before doomsday. Many people might get sunburned or cancerred to a point that medical personnel's might be unable to take care of their numerous patients but as a many people have shrugged off, “2012 is not too far away” lets wait till then but as a lamb lead to its slaughter, who knows? We might be getting to our doom.

Take it that the human race exceeds doomsday, another problem arises. A natural and inevitable problem. The guru has predicted, what are your feelings and what do you do? Is the earth truly doomed? Let's see the prediction.

The sun's life expires after a billion years as calculated by scientist and astronomers based on studies on the life of the stars, the constituted of its comets and the chemical constituents of the sun. after the expiration of the sun's life, it will expand into a red giant which is very natural for stars of it's calibre after completing their life spans. The gravity of the sun will change and it will affect the nearby planets. Mercury and Venus will inevitably be engulfed by the sun, the earth stands in an uncertain position and planet mars will surely escape engulfment.

Take it that the earth gets engulfed; the earth perishes. Take it that the earth escapes by spiraling outward, it becomes a wandering planet and it may not be able to live as a wandering planet for so long as it may crash into other planetary bodies or a meteor and in either case, it gets destroyed. Take it that before the end of time, a meteor gets into earth's Orbit, crashes with the earth and still gets the earth destroyed. Take it that, as most scientists are saying, the earth comes directly between the sun and the milky way which will result on a rotation of poles and this right mean tones of earthquakes, tornadoes, volcano eruptions, Tsunami's etc. there is no hope then? There may.

Consolation

An international team of astronomers from 15 different countries led by Roberts Silvotti of the Italian National Institute of Astrophysics discovered a planet which is a little more massive than Jupiter, orbiting round a red star V391 Pegasi at an orbital of 3.2 years. The planet is believed to had been of almost the same distance to it's star as the earth is to the sun and when it's star changed into a red giant, it's centre of gravity changed so it orbited spirally outward keeping pace with it's star. Take it that the earth undergoes this. Hope!.

A billion years is a very longtime and with the present rate of techno-scientific development on the earth, the earthmen then may be very technologically advanced that they may be able to salvage the earth from the situation or find a new planet with same characteristics as the earth and transfer themselves over to it . Hope!!

Scientist predict that the earth had undergone similar processes in the past and that it always came out recreated each time. Hope!!!

According to Christian beliefs, the Messiah will come and take away the good people from the earth having only the bad men to face the troubles. Hope!
