Strange Storms

Three strange but true storms around the world.

Green rain

One day it rained green rain on a village near Calcutta, India, in June 2002.staining people's clothing and some buildings. When another green shower happened 2 days later the public worried they were attacked by contaminated rain. Scientists figured out that it wasn't contaminated rain. It was swarms of giant tropical honeybees flying in the sky bombing people with poop. The droppings contained undigested pollen and some honey that made it sticky.

Five colors of snow

Five colors of snow have been falling in Russia over the past few years. In April 2001 residents in eastern Siberia got yellow, blue, red, and green flakes. Then in March 2002 they got a blanket of cotton candy colored snow. The strange colored snow was caused by cyclones in China and Mongolia. The winds lifted pollen, dust, and sand into the atmosphere and then dropped hundreds of miles away in Russia.

Raining fish

In august 2004, Great Britain was socked by several days of very heavy rain. The people of Knighton, Whales, got a special treat, for a few minutes it was raining cold fish and anyone without cover was pelted by it. Researchers said that a small tornado sucked the fish up high and then it fell back down thus, creating raining fish.
