How to Survive a Tornado

How to survive a tornado if you get caught in one.

Tornadoes can happen all over the world but the most of the tornadoes happen in tornado alley, so if you live in tornado alley or want to move to tornado alley you need to know how to survive a tornado. Lets start with the basics; your house. Avoid buying mobile homes as the can flip over easily. Your house should be tornado proof, and also have powerful storm windows.

Have the doors opening outwards to avoid a door from blowing inside, and the most important thing built a safe room which is best to be built in basement and if you don't have a basement make it a inner room on the lowest floor. Second thing have the right equipment. Keep a weather radio, flashlight, extra batteries and always pay attention to tornado sirens. Okay now let's learn what to do when a tornado hits. Go underground in the basement or the safe room.

Try to stay as far away from a window as you possibly can, even a small piece of glass can hit you at the speed of a bullet. Don't try to hide in a car or try to outrun a tornado with a car. If you are inside never go outside. If you are outside get out of the car and find the closest building and get in it. If there is no building lie down in a ditch or ravine facing down covering your head, and the most important look out for flying objects.
