Water Sources

Inland water sources is deteriorating because of pollution, that's why bottled water has increasingly grown in popularity.

About 3% of the earth's total water found on land is called inland waters. This is such a small amount compared to the vastness of the ocean but this is very important to man and all forms of life.

At present some of our inland waters are deteriorating because of pollution. These are the reason why bottled water has increasingly grown in popularity. It comes in four different types- distilled, spring, mineral, and sparkling water.

  • Distilled water. The impurities are removed through the process of distillation where the water is boiled to a steam and then condensed back to water. while water removes impurities, it also strips away minerals, which are important to person's diet.
  • Spring water. It is naturally filtered and bottled by tapping the underground source at the spring. Spring water contains much needed nutrients.
  • Mineral water. Contains a variety of minerals which boosts nutrition, such as iron, potassium, magnesium, silicon and chromium.
  • Sparkling water. Sparkling water is a type of spring water that has been purified and added with carbon dioxide. It is tasty but unlike cola, it has less carbonated content and does not dehydrate the body.
