Thermal Energy

What do you know about thermal energy? Thermal energy is almost everywhere!

What is thermal energy? Thermal energy is anything that gives off heat; heater, oven. There are things almost everywhere you go that use thermal energy. Thermal energy increases as it’s temperature increases. The warmer an object is, the more thermal energy it is using .

Electrical power plant use and burn energy to make steam. First, coil, oil or natural gas is burned so the water can boil. This involves thermal energy. Then, as the water is boiling the steam pushes through a turbine, and on the blades to turn the turbine. The generator rotates and electrical energy is produced. A few ways electrical power plants use and burn energy to make steam are when we are using electricity; TV, computer or an Iron. There are many other things use electricity.

Thermal energy is produced in products even if we are not using them for heating. Why? Well, if you think about you can see that we watch TV and that has thermal energy produced into it. Do we use the television to keep warm?
