Neon

The basic information about the atom Neon.

Neon was discovered by Ramsay and Travers in 1898. That was a great day for the stores that have neon lights. Without Neon how would they tell people there store is open or closed. Neon is a rare noble gas that is very hard to find because only 1 out of 65,000 elements in our air is neon. Natural neon is a mixture of three isotopes, out of six that are known. Neon is also very inert element. Sometimes we see neon mixed with fluorine. Some scientists are questioning the existence of neon because we most often see it with other combined elements.

This rare element has many uses mostly with light, but did you know that it keeps your food fresher, 40 times more than liquid helium. Neon is seen in lightning arrestors, wave meters tubes, and TV tubes.

Neon is tenth element on the patriotic table but is still very important, for how would we watch TV keep our food fresh and attract people to our stores.
