The Star Nosed Mole habitat is in wet lowland areas, it usually eats small invertebrates. The amazing thing about this creature is that it can taste through its nose, yep you heard me nose.
Using this amazing sense it can dig and taste the earth making it easy for it to find grubs, worms, snails and slugs. If it's lucky and finds something it can identify it in 120 milliseconds! And in the very small time of 8 ms it decides whether it's hungry, if the object is edible and digestible and if the creature is comestible or not.
Although unfortunately the Star Nosed Mole is blind, although it can smell and taste extremely well, it has the ability to smell underwater and it's a strong swimmer. They can smell underwater by breathing out air bubbles and then the bubbles land on the area and the bubble takes the smell back to the nose. This is an extraordinary animal and has features like no other animal.
