A team from the University of Cambridge did this experiment:
They put a group of cows in a fence where there was a leaver. If the animals pushed it correctly, then they could enter a field full of tasty food.
The cows needed some time to get the idea. When the cows finally got to understand the mechanism, the scientists observed signs of satisfaction. The heart frequency of the animals, and their potential to jump to where the food was, increased.
This and other experiments led the team to consider that animals do have feelings that should be respected, just like humans. This is one of the most interesting and important aspects of biology and scientists really want to get more answers.
It is also known that hens have hierarchy positions within their pairs. This demonstrates that they feel respect, as well as admiration and feelings for the other half of their pairs.
New experiments are being held with monkeys, due to their similarity to the human anatomy.
So be careful in how you treat your pets because they may get hurt emotionally.
