Ants

Wonderful facts about various ants.

  1. The Black ant has many unique qualities. The first that you notice is that most of the black ants are soldier ants and can lift many times its own weight.
  2. Black ants also like to keep their queen ant at the bottom of the ant hill, that way, if there was a war the queen would be hard to get to
  3. The black ant can also run faster than any other type of ant. It uses all six legs, like four wheel driving, only with six legs. Black ants stay outside most of the day so they are very alert to any threat.
  4. The red ant is known by many people as “fire” ants. The name suits the ants because of the way the ants fight. Red ants tend to attack their enemies weakness and take them out quickly.
  5. Red ants can be very aggressive and sometimes even eat their own kind! This act is only used in bad situations only. They usually just feast on beetles, crickets, and other types of ants.
  6. Red ants cannot withstand the heat much, so they usually just stay in the hill, guarding the queen that lives just outside of the daycare center. Queens will eat forager ants and give birth to thousands of soldiers ants a day and about three thousand foragers!
  7. The great red ants are just a normal red ant, if the ant was on super steroids! These ants are huge and about the size a thirteen year old's thumb nail. These ants can bite the wood off a pencil in less than 4 bites!
  8. This species of ant is completely made up of soldier ants and one queen. These ants are completely carnivorous and dangerous. Ten of these ants can kill a five month old baby in less than one hour! The normal black ant soldiers would need four armies of ant generals to kill one army of these things.
  9. The queen itself is the size of a walnut and can fly! It is very defensive and will let no one, not even its own kind, near the eggs. The queen sometimes guards the ant hole when the rest of the ants are at war.
