Learn some facts about animals,their habitat,what they eat and where they live. |
- A is for Alligator. Alligators live in North America, South America, Africa, Asia, and Australia.
- B is for Bear. Bears are blind at birth and covered with very fine hair.
- C is for Camel. A camels favorite food would be salty plants and even thorns.
- D is for Deer. There are about 36 species of deer.
- E is for Elephants. Elephants may live 70 years or more.
- F is for Frog. Frogs can be found anywhere except the Antarctica.
- G is for Giraffe. A newborn giraffe is taller than the average adult human.
- H is for Hippopotamus. Young hippos are so comfortable in the water, they learn to swim before they learn to walk.
- I is for Iguana. Green Iguanas can and will reach 5 to 6 feet and weigh 18 pounds.
- J is for Jaguar. Jaguars live in remote areas from Northern Mexico, to the tip of South America.
- K is for Kangaroo. Kangaroos are the largest marsupial mammals.
- L is for Lion. Lions are meat eaters. They prefer larger prey.
- M is for Monkey. Most monkeys are plant eaters.
- N is for Nocturnal. Nocturnal means they are night creatures.
- O is for Ostrich. The ostrich is found in Africa.
- P is for Penguin. Penguins live in the Southern half of the Earth.
- Q is for Quail. A group of quail is called a covey.
- R is for Rhinoceros. Rhinos are strictly vegetarian.
- S is for Seal. Seals live at both poles, and on coasts of islands nearest the poles.
- T is for Tiger. Tigers once roamed over most of Asia.
- U is for Urial. Urial is a type of sheep.
- V is for Vulture. Some vultures have 9 foot wingspans and can weigh as much as a small dog.
- W is for Walrus. A walrus can move on land as fast as a man can run.
- X is for Xanthus Hummingbird. Hummingbirds fly like little helicopters.
- Y is for Yak. Yaks are found in the cold, dry regions of the Tibetan Plateaus in Central Asia.
- Z is for Zebra. Zebras live in Africa.
